Maker Preview: Loubijoux at the easter fair...

Do you love shiny, pretty things like we do at reetsweet? We always try to book a few nice jewellery makers, because you can never have too many trinkets we think, so we welcome aboard for the April fair, 'Loubijoux'...

'Loubijoux (pronounced loo-bee-‘zhu) is the jewellery collection by designer-maker Sarah Pearson which first debuted online in 2009.  Her collection combines carefully sourced true vintage components with new elements to create a truly unique range of limited edition pieces.

Each hand produced in her small studio in Skipton, North Yorkshire.  Here you'll find unusual charms, lacy filigrees, secret lockets, vintage cameos, rich brass chain and pretty floral decals with the closest attention to detail.  Well made, individual and entirely wearable. Modern with a vintage aesthetic.'

Dec fair preview: 'Tuesday's Child'

We are so excited about this new maker - Nicola Robson of 'Tuesday's Child'.  Nicola makes impressively finished, original jewellery focusing on themes about woodland animals and seafaring, and they are simply perfect gifts.  She will be joining us at our last event for 2012 at Leeds Corn Exchange on Dec 1st...

'I started up Tuesday's Child after graduating a Fashion Marketing degree at Northumbria University. I set up a studio on the family farm in Northumberland where I started making jewellery from scratch using the lost wax casting process. I take inspiration from many places including travel, the British countryside and vintage jewellery. My aim was to create a truly crafted collection of simple pieces with a focus on detail that makes my jewellery unique. I also wanted to create jewellery that was affordable and would last a lifetime. I recently relocated to Leeds.'

Easter fair preview: Kitschensink

To celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee this year, Kitschen Sink has designed three limited edition pieces available as brooches and necklaces, inspired by her ladyship's blingin' crown jewels. Perfect for kitsch queens, proud to be British princesses and design-loving duchesses! Some gold sparkle, some jewelly translucent royal blue lucite and regal red - who would want the Queen's crown jewels?

Deery me!

Introducing Deer oh Deer...

"Hi I'm Dianne, a compulsive Collector made in New Zealand, based in London, England. I am part mini lop rabbit, part unicorn. Mini-Lop-Rabbicorn. I'm inspired by taxidermy, collections, found objects, mythical creatures, horned beasts, birds of prey, space, Gaiman's 'Sandman', Narnia, lace and velvet. I hope to reflect these things here. My favourite book is The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle. Not many people have read it, which I think is a shame.

Here at Dear Oh Deer you will find jewellery and accessories made from feathers, as well as various other goods made from recycled materials."

See Dianne's lovely work this coming sunday at reetsweet craft fair - Leeds Corn Exchange!
