Introducing Magnetic Deluxe

One of the easiest things to buy those we love is a great piece of handmade jewellery. Something unique that captures their personality that's been carefully made rather than mass produced always impresses.

For the Dec fair we are proud to be bringing Magnetic Deluxe to the corn exchange. 

Describing themselves as "...metal heads with a minimise to maximise design ethos, applied lovingly by hand to precious metals and jewels to create geometric shapes that are, wearable and make a statement. Items are designed with the wearer in mind, making comfortable and distinctive accessories you can wear everyday..."

All designs are made by hand in the UK by Laura-Jane Hemsley - a Leeds based jewellery designer producing contemporary, statement jewellery, hand made in small quantities in her studio.

Inspired by a love of angular shapes, symmetry and minimalism, Laura-Jane uses traditional silversmithing techniques, translucent acrylics and Swarovski Crystals to create her designs. Catch her at reetsweet on Dec 7th or find her online at:

a hopeful potter joins the reetsweet team...

It is always a great pleasure (and big endeavour!) going through all the submissions for each event and picking the best - the most original, the highest quality local craft. I have always had a great respect for the art of ceramics - my mother was a huge collector when I was younger and I am sure she would love the earthy, yet chic simplicity of our newest maker...

His name is David Worsley, of Dove St Pottery and he has an excellent blog here all about his wonderful work:




' I make functional domestic ware to be used in people's homes everyday. My pottery is about combining aesthetics with functional and practical use, bringing form and glaze together into one harmonious whole. I want my pots to be accessible and affordable, so that people feel able to use them everyday without them being thought so precious that they can only be brought out when Aunty comes round - 'handmade', as part of people's normal, everyday lives.'

this coming sunday @ leeds corn exchange: the main event! reetsweet!

Although the dust has barely settled upon our last mini event, we are delighted to be back at the corn exchange once again this coming sunday with our main reetsweet fair of the summer - june 5th from 11am to 4.30pm.

This fair features over 20 of the finest crafters from in and around leeds and as usual you can preview some of their work right here on the reetsweet blog (soon to be replaced by reetsweet.com coming soon)...
