hello leeds: easter fair preview of Catherine Summers Design

New to reetsweet Catherine Summers is a unique artist working with ceramics and textiles, she produces lovely original illustrations with a sweet and innocent feel. Bunny rabbits, giraffes, pugs and other animals are brought to life in stark black and white designs and used in her tea collection, and also on a range of cushions and toys.

We at reetsweet have a feeling that Catherine (who has only recently graduated as a mature student) will be very popular at this fair so pop down early on april 7th to make sure you get to see the whole range - simply beautiful!

hello leeds: easter fair preview of 'magasin'

I'm not keen on much cross stitch - not because I don't appreciate the skill and patience involved in it - but mostly because much of it has been done before. However, throw in something a little bit different and make it new - and I'm on it like a scotch bonnet!! On etsy my friend mother eagle is doing some amazing work, and at april reetsweet Sarah Fordham will be showing you some of her work in this super cute medium...

Introducing 'Magasin' by Sarah Fordham; specialising in Cross Stitch and Embroidery, she has created a selection of Jewellery, Accessories and Decorative Homewares.

Most known for her over-sized Cross Stitch Badges which have been worn by the likes of Radio DJ and TV presenter Fearne Cotton! Her work features moustaches, birds, 'jerk' badges...Ooh - fancy! (and funny!) Check out her etsy coverage here!

hello leeds: easter fair previews!

Wow doesn't time fly? It seems like yesterday we were putting up christmas trees, and here I am about to talk to you about the easter fair! Well, it's the perfect time of year for craft easter I think, spring is springing, and there's chocolate eggs and lambs in the fields. It's awesome. A great time to spruce up your home with something lovely a handmade, and you can't go wrong with anything made by these guys...

Foxbunting
are always a big hit at reetsweet, Brionny and her friend both try their hand at a range of crafts - from illustration to crocheting, to cushion making! Their biggest hit with the crowd (and one that gets a lot of people talking) is the crochet taxidermy heads, I think these two will go on to BIG THINGS, they have imagination in buckletloads and are lovely ladies...

Catch them at reetsweet's easter fair on sat 7th april - leeds corn exchange, see here for more info....more updates in the next few days, featuring more new makers and news!

It's here! 11am onwards...The Sheffield Spring Spectacular!

We aren't ones to boast, but tomorrow's fair in Sheffield at the Millennium Gallery is shaping up to be a belter so please bob down and take a peek, it's free and we are open until 5pm - just 2 mins walk from the train station!...

What can you expect?

Reetsweet is no ordinary craft fair, we handpick only the best quality crafts, and the most original makers around to bring you something worth leaving the high street behind for. You'll find original art, jewellery, printmaking, homewares including textiles and ceramics, upcycling - you name it, it's here, and it's all a little bit different to what you think of as 'craft'.

We began in 2010 with a mission - to campaign against crap craft and the general old fuddy duddy image of crafting and put on fairs that showcase modern, fashionable craft at it's best...so get down and show your support tomorrow...see you there!

reetsweet sheffield: march 10th previews (and a surprise for saturday!)

We can reveal that the first ten people through the door on saturday's fair will get a free gift! We open at 11am upstairs at the Millennium Gallery - in the Arundel Room - now back to the previews!

One of my favourite things to collect is embroidery, I like quirky pieces, and have an awful lot of time for this lady - Hayley Wright who runs 'Born Restless'...

'Born Restless is a collection of embroidered art and jewellery, made by someone who is trying to live a little better and work a little less. Currently living in Manchester, I make most of the things you’ll see on here in my bedroom at night, whilst listening to ghost stories on the radio.

I’m inspired by ideas of home and memory, the occult, and the psychology of serial killers, as well as anything else that seems like a great idea at the time.'

See you soon Sheffield!
